My name is Carolina Fontoura Alzaga, I’m a Mexican-Brazilian, artist based in Los Angeles, CA. I’m Founder of Facaro and creator of ‘Connect’ my first series of lighting sculptures; I present ‘Devenir’, my new edition of lamps from my second series, ‘Lucienne’.

This series was inspired by an art deco glass rod chandelier owned by my late mother. Lucienne reimagines this aesthetic through a contemporary lens and it explores forms through multiple editions including the Devenir edition. Devenir means ‘to become’ or 'becoming'.

Each piece in this edition is an art object that focuses our attention on what nourishes, elevates, affirms or gives us confidence in who we want to be and what world we want to build despite external and internal oppressions, we hold the power to lead fulfilling lives and enact change filled with love care and connection with ourselves with our communities and with the natural world.

To align with your desires each aspect of the lamp is personalized including the color of the glass, the components, the base material, and the engraved message.Whether it’s a symbol word or phrase the engraving serves as a message that cultivates the potency of our desire and galvanizes the momentum of our individual and collective purpose.
